Available vehicle energy
Powershare uses the battery energy above the discharge limit selected in the Tesla app.

— TESLA POWERSHARE CERTIFIED
Turn a compatible Cybertruck into whole-home backup power with a Tesla Universal Wall Connector, Powershare Gateway and a system professionally installed and commissioned by Tesla-certified EV specialists.

— BACKUP POWER ALREADY IN YOUR DRIVEWAY
Powershare Home Backup automatically detects a utility outage and can begin supplying the home through the installed Tesla equipment. Tesla lists up to 11.5 kW of backup power—enough to support a properly configured whole-home system while the vehicle remains connected in the garage.

— HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
Backup duration changes with the Cybertruck's available battery, the discharge reserve you select and the loads operating inside the home. Reducing unnecessary consumption during an outage helps the available energy last longer.
Powershare uses the battery energy above the discharge limit selected in the Tesla app.
Air conditioning, water heating and other high-demand equipment can shorten backup duration.
A compatible solar configuration may power the home and help replenish the vehicle during an outage.
— A CLEANER ALTERNATIVE TO ENGINE-DRIVEN BACKUP
Powershare draws stored energy directly from the Cybertruck battery. There is no fuel to store, no exhaust and no engine noise or routine generator maintenance. The truck remains connected to the Universal Wall Connector inside the garage while the system supplies the home.

— TESLA POWERSHARE FAQ
Powershare allows a compatible Cybertruck to send energy through the Tesla Universal Wall Connector and Powershare equipment to help power the home during a utility outage.
Tesla advertises over three days of backup under its stated assumptions. Actual duration depends on the energy available in the Cybertruck above the owner-set discharge limit, the home's electricity use and how often high-demand equipment runs. Solar can extend backup duration when configured with a compatible system.
Tesla lists up to 11.5 kW of output for Powershare Home Backup. The home's instantaneous demand must remain within the system's available output, so managing large loads can help extend backup time and prevent an overload.
A typical installation pairs the Tesla Universal Wall Connector with the Powershare Gateway and the required electrical integration for the home. We install the system and commission it so the equipment, vehicle and Tesla app communicate correctly.
It serves a similar backup purpose without gasoline, engine noise or exhaust fumes. Because the energy comes from the Cybertruck's battery, the vehicle can remain connected inside the garage during backup operation.
Request a consultation and upload clear photos of the electrical panels, service equipment, planned Wall Connector location and the route between them. Our team will review the setup and let you know what else is needed.
