Go Electric Chargers is a participating Duke Energy contractor. We help qualified customers use the direct contractor option so the program, estimate and EV charging installation stay connected from the beginning.
What can the credit cover?
The credit applies to qualifying electrical infrastructure needed to prepare an eligible home for Level 2 EV charging. The final credit depends on the approved scope of work and Duke Energy's program decision.
Charger hardware, permit costs, administrative fees and work outside the program's eligible scope remain the customer's responsibility. For a very simple qualifying installation where the customer already has a charger and the existing electrical panel can safely accommodate the EV charging load, the remaining out-of-pocket amount may be limited primarily to permit and administrative fees. The direct option, step by step
- Get prequalified through the program.Confirm that your Duke Energy account, vehicle and proposed work meet current program requirements.
- Select Go Electric Chargers.Choose us as the participating contractor for your project.
- Review and book your estimate.We confirm the installation plan, eligible work and any noneligible out-of-pocket expenses before scheduling.
- Complete the installation.The approved credit is applied directly, and you pay only the remaining project balance.

How much is the Duke Energy EV Charger Prep Credit?+
Eligible Duke Energy Florida customers may qualify for a credit of up to $819. Duke Energy determines eligibility and the approved amount.
Does the credit pay for the EV charger?+
The program is designed for qualifying electrical work needed to prepare a home for EV charging. Charger hardware, permit and administrative fees are not eligible expenses.
How does the direct contractor option work?+
Prequalify through the program, select Go Electric Chargers as your participating contractor and book the installation. The approved credit is applied directly, and we collect only the remaining out-of-pocket project expenses.
